Thanksgiving day is here and now over

Thanksgiving day is here and will soon be over. Christmas will come so fast!

I usually post a picture during Thanksgiving and was thinking of what I am Thankful for. Family, those that are with us and those that have gone before us. Without the the love of family we would not have the memories that we have been blessed with.

We need to hug our family this time of year and thank God for the many blessings he has bestowed upon us.

A few years ago I posted an image of a platter that is a China painting that was painted by mom (Reba) as I did not have the clay pot that she used to cook scalloped corn. Well, with the passing of dad this past May, the clay pot was found!

A traditional dish served at our family’s Thanksgiving meal is a scalloped corn dish that was always served in the same clay casserole dish for years. The recipe was handed down from grandma Veach who learned it from her mother grandma Floyd.

Lynette worried herself into a frazzled mess over this dish this year! Can you imagine trying to meet the historic memories of family’s past cooking in this dish🤔 Oh my I must say that she knocked it out of the park!

Using the Original Clay pot has truly transformed the dish back to when I was a young boy and the memories of when we all traveled with the Cheatum cousins as a family to Mexico and purchased the pot.

Corn was served at the first Thanksgiving and is still a family tradition.

We are so blessed!

Love to all

Enjoy!
