Seattle and the Northwest

A few weeks ago Lynette and I were fortunate to travel to Seattle and the Northwest to visit with my sister and her husband.  Previously, we have been on this trip,  and do enjoy the beauty of Seattle and all that the city has to offer.

However, this time we wanted to do a little side adventure traveling by ferry to Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands.  Wow! what an adventure!

When we arrived in Seattle, we drove over to an area that we had not previously been to and have a late lunch.  This restaurant was down by the water and provided a great view back to the city skyline.

After lunch we drove over to the Sky View Observatory located in the Columbia Center on the 73rd floor.  This tower is the tallest building in the Seattle area.  The goal was to watch the sunset over the Seattle skyline and the Puget sound region.

The past few years we have made images from the Kerry Park area as this B&W pano of the city will give you a idea as to what you can see.  This was printed and delivered as a 16 x 36 canvas pano and looks great on the clients wall!

This year the view was much different as it gave us a 270 degree perspective on the city.  I certainly would recommend this view as well if you can swing the time to go to both on different days.

The first image was prior to the sun setting and the second was during the blue hour with the lights of the city starting to twinkle.

I will post other images as we travel to the Orcas Island.

Enjoy
