Pinecrest Gardens Art Fair
Sunday afternoon I visited Pincrest Gardens Art Fair. I had a good time looking around at the art and taking pictures of the tropical gardens. The facility used to be called the Parrot Jungle, however, they moved over by the Miami Beach causeway.
The Iguanas are very large and are free to roam inside a secure area. This has become a problem in south Florida as you are starting to see them everywhere. Not just in a secured area.
Iguana is a genus of lizard native to tropical areas of Central and South America and the Caribbean first described by Austrian naturalist Josephus Nicolaus Laurenti in his book Specimen Medicum, Exhibens Synopsin Reptilium Emendatam cum Experimentis circa Venena in 1768. The genus iguana includes two species: the Green Iguana and the Lesser Antillean Iguana. The word "Iguana" is derived from a Spanish form of the original Taino name for the species "Iwana".[1] ^ Coles, William (2002), Green Iguana, Department of Planning and Natural Resources US Virgin Islands Division of Fish and Wildlife, <http://www.vifishandwildlife.com/Education/FactSheet/PDF_Docs/08GreenIguana.pdf>
